And iGEM has been instrumental in growing the education environment for this. It’s learning by doing. So it gives the opportunity for students to do independent research with the latest tools and technologies and that’s very exciting for me. But I’m here to help the students because the bar keeps rising with this competition. Even though its only about seven years old, its hyper competitive. It’s on a world stage. And we want the Alberta students to have the best possible chances of success.

According to Andrew Hessel, when the teams present at iGEM, industry and investors will be there to scout out the next great plays for synthetic biology.

Thanks today to Alberta Innovates Technology Futures

FOR INNOVATION ANTHOLOGY
I’M CHERYL CROUCHER

Guest

,

, , , ,

Sponsor

Alberta Innovates Technology Futures

Alberta Innovates launched its consolidation on November 1, 2016

780-450-5111
albertatechfutures.ca

250 Karl Clark Road,
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
T6N 1E4

Program Date: 2010-09-21

In November, university students from Edmonton, Calgary and Lethbridge will compete in Boston against 130 other teams at the International Genetically Engineered Machines or iGEM Jamboree.
