For over three decades, world famous sociologist Dr. Reginald Bibby has been following the lifelong trends in the social values of Canadian. <\/p>\n

The result is several books authored by this University of Lethbridge sociology professor, many dealing with our on again-off again relationship with organized religion. <\/p>\n

Dr. Bibby ventures into territory that challenges current scientific thinking on knowing the unknowable. <\/p>\n

DR. REGINALD BIBBY: <\/strong>A better way to go in terms of science is to say we’ll try to explain everything as well as we can by using empirical data. But sometimes I think that what we need to do is to allow for a so-called “God hypothesis”. That in addition to what we were able to explain using observable date, that there could be something beyond that, that would have a role in what people are claiming they’re experiencing, the kinds of things that they’re doing. And to me that’s not overstepping boundaries but it’s recognizing in an explicit way that there could be a factors that are not observable that are influencing what’s going on.<\/em> <\/p>\n

Dr. Reginald Bibby’s book is titled GOOD WITHOUT GOD, BUT BETTER WITH GOD? <\/strong> It’s a scientific review of what motivates Canadians to value goodness. <\/p>\n
