{"id":1441,"date":"2013-06-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-568\/"},"modified":"2018-02-25T21:30:47","modified_gmt":"2018-02-25T21:30:47","slug":"innovation-anthology-568","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2013\/06\/25\/innovation-anthology-568\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation Anthology #568:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/Innovation Anthology 568.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\nMexico has established a system of <b>indigenous universities, <\/b>and there is a growing desire for collaboration between Mexico and Canada.\n<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\nDr. Michael Mahon<\/b> is the President and Vice Chancellor at the <b>University of Lethbridge.<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHe recently hosted a<b> round table <\/b>of several Canadian and Mexican universities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOn the agenda were topics like aboriginal social movements, different models for indigenous education, and scientific research.\n<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\nDR. MCHAEL MAHON: <\/b><em> One of the things we&#8217;re looking at here at the University of Lethbridge is  the whole issue of health and health practices and looking at indigenous knowledge around health and health practices.  We have some new funding to look at alternative health practices here. And some professors who are really interested in looking at indigenous approaches to health.  And  a couple of universities in Mexico are doing a lot of work in this area.
