We’re working to proof of concept basically a data and information management system. We are also working to develop an ecosystems services assessment process and helping to define what that might look like. And we’re working through a network of experts that’s led by the Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute in order to do that. But coming out of that we’re also trying to do some applied proof of concepts working with the stakeholders on the landscape to see how these things might work. So it’s an applied process where we want to be practical and make sure some of the ideas work from a business perspective so that it can actually practicably be used in land use decision-making and whether it’s reclamation, remediation, or just off-setting kinds of processes.

Carol Bettac hopes to establish an network of experts to further the discussion and science around ecosystem services.

Thanks today to ALBERTA INNOVATES BIO SOLUTIONS

Learn more at InnovationAnthology.com

I’M CHERYL CROUCHER

Guest

,

, , , ,

Sponsor

Alberta Innovates Bio Solutions

The Alberta Innovates consolidation launched on November 1, 2016.

As part of the Alberta Innovates system, AI Bio Solutions invests in research and innovation to grow prosperity in Alberta’s agriculture, food and forestry sectors.
