David Chappell is the President of Williams Energy (Canada) Inc, a Fort McMurray liquid extraction plant. Williams was chosen as a finalist for the Emerald Challenge Award in Oil Sands at the 2012 Emerald Foundation Awards for Environmental Excellence. Using a unique application of off gas recovery technology, the company has recovered various by-products from oil sands production, reduced pollution and saved 2 million tonnes in carbon dioxide emissions and 1700 tonnes in sulphur dioxide emissions.
