Dan Djukich is director of nanoAlberta, an agency under the umbrella of Alberta Innovates Technology Futures. As part of the TEC VenturePrize Business Plan Competition, nanoAlberta is sponsoring a new category focused on nanotechnology. First prize is worth $125,000 in cash and in-kind services. Second prize is $50,000 in cash and in-kind services.

Deadline for submitting a business plan to the TEC VenturePrize competition for both the Fast Growth and Nano categories is February 24th.

A gala evening to announce the winners in the Fast Growth, Nano, and Student categories will be held April 26th at the Shaw Conference Centre. Tickets will be available from TEC Edmonton.

Lethbridge, Alberta is hosting the 52nd annual Canada Wide Science Fair. 500 young scientists in grades 7 through 12 are competing in this national event and will demonstrate their inventions, experiments and innovations to a panel of 350 judges.
