{"id":2143,"date":"2017-01-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-838\/"},"modified":"2018-05-10T03:28:22","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T03:28:22","slug":"innovation-anthology-838","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2017\/01\/17\/innovation-anthology-838\/","title":{"rendered":"#838: Genome Alberta Receives Federal Funding For Major Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/Innovation Anthology 838.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Genome Alberta recently scored big with funding from Genome Canada.<br style=\"\" \/><br style=\"\" \/>According to President and CEO Dr. David Bailey, his group worked hard to secure $35 million dollars in federal funding to support four major projects.<br style=\"\" \/><br style=\"\" \/>These research projects deal with a broad range of topics focused on DNA, microbes and biological systems.<br style=\"\" \/><br style=\"\" \/>And as Dr. David Bailey explains, the success of these projects depends on additional support from other partners.<br style=\"\" \/><br style=\"\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">DR. Two applied research subsidiaries &#8211; Innotech Alberta and C-Fer Technologies &#8211;&nbsp; serve public and private sector interests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"et_pb_text et_pb_module et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_text_align_left  et_pb_text_2\">\n<p>The Alberta Innovates system was first created in January 2010, as  part of an overall innovation framework developed within the Alberta  Research and Innovation Act.
