{"id":207,"date":"2007-12-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-12-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-89-president-and-executive-producer\/"},"modified":"2018-02-25T21:29:49","modified_gmt":"2018-02-25T21:29:49","slug":"innovation-anthology-89-president-and-executive-producer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2007\/12\/04\/innovation-anthology-89-president-and-executive-producer\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation Anthology #89: President and Executive Producer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/Innovation Anthology 089.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p> One day soon, the golden wheat fields of the prairies may be replaced by the heavenly blue of flax. <\/p>\n<p> <strong>Flax is the bioeconomy crop of the 21st century.<\/strong>  That&#8217;s according to <strong>Linda Braun, <\/strong>executive director of the Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission.    <\/p>\n<p> She was among the many scientists, farmers and manufacturers who came from across Canada to discuss biofibres at a symposium sponsored by the <strong>Alberta Research Council.   <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p> The straw and oil from flax can be processed as alternatives to petrochemicals and pulp, and still be used for food.   <\/p>\n<p> <strong> LINDA BRAUN: <\/strong><em>    The most well known of course is the Omega 3 oils.  And then if we look at the straw, we&#8217;re finding linseed flax, or oil seed flax as we call it in Canada, has a lot of uses if it&#8217;s retted and managed properly.   So complete plant utilization.
