{"id":2064,"date":"2016-08-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-806\/"},"modified":"2018-05-10T19:42:10","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T19:42:10","slug":"innovation-anthology-806","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2016\/08\/25\/innovation-anthology-806\/","title":{"rendered":"#806: CCEMC Grand Challenge: University of Alberta Fuel Cell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/Innovation Anthology 806.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most people think of fuel cells as batteries that can be used to power cars.<\/p>\n<p>But Dr. Tom Etsell, a chemical and materials engineer at the University of Alberta, is thinking much bigger than that.<\/p>\n<p>With  funding from the Climate Change and Emissions Management Corporation&rsquo;s  Grand Challenge, Dr. Etsell&rsquo;s group is working on a ceramic fuel cell  that operates at 700 degrees celcius. &nbsp;And it converts industrial carbon  dioxide emissions into carbon monoxide and water.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">DR.
