{"id":2060,"date":"2016-08-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-804\/"},"modified":"2018-05-10T19:43:00","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T19:43:00","slug":"innovation-anthology-804","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2016\/08\/18\/innovation-anthology-804\/","title":{"rendered":"#804: MAPS:  Fort McMurray Fire Burns Bird Research Stations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/1-Innovation Anthology 804.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The song bird banding program in Alberta&rsquo;s oil sands region lost three  of Its 38 stations to this year&rsquo;s devastating forest fire through Fort  McMurray.<\/p>\n<p>Biologist Dr. Ken Foster of Owl Moon Environmental leads the multi year program. &nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;<br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">DR  KEN FOSTER<\/span> &nbsp;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Three of our monitoring stations experienced some level of  fire. &nbsp;One burned very hard, most of the trees and undergrowth had been  killed. <br \/>And again, this is a natural part of the boreal forest  ecology. So its not that these areas have been lost per se.
