{"id":1985,"date":"2016-04-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2018\/02\/01\/innovation-anthology-771\/"},"modified":"2018-05-10T20:05:15","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T20:05:15","slug":"innovation-anthology-771","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.innovationanthology.com\/import\/2016\/04\/07\/innovation-anthology-771\/","title":{"rendered":"#771: Brain&#8217;s Endocannabinoid Could Help PTSD Patients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/innovationanthology.com\/uploads\/Innovation Anthology 771.mp3\">Download MP3 Link<\/a><\/p>\n<p>People suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder sometimes self medicate with cannabis or marijuana. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Maria Morena is a memory specialist and post doctoral fellow at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary<\/p>\n<p>She is researching how fear entangled with memories of traumatic events can be extinguished.<\/p>\n<p>She is also researching how the body&#8217;s own endocannabinoid system might be enhanced to reduce the anxiety of PTSD patients.<br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><br \/>DR  MARIA MORENA<\/span>: <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">&nbsp;Endocannibanoid system is a neurotransmitter system that  we have in our body, &nbsp;We can say it&#8217;s our brain&#8217;s version of cannabis.  &nbsp;Our brain makes its own cannabinoid. &nbsp;We don&#8217;t need to smoke cannibis  to induce its release.
