\nDR. CY FRANK:<\/b> Without a healthy work force and a healthy population, our economic value would decline pretty significantly. Not even counting the economic values created by this large workforce that are contributing to the infrastructure and taxes that are being paid. And in my mind, the role of Alberta Innovates Health Solutions is to help improve value for money in the health system both directly, by improving the health of the citizens, but also what I’ll call indirectly by providing new innovation system services technologies that have economic value of company startups, products and services that I believe will create a whole new industry around health care in our province. <\/em>\n<\/p>\n

It is a agency  of the Government of Alberta. We receive a yearly allocation from the Ministry of Health and report through the ministry to the people of Alberta.<\/p>\n

Our Mandate and Roles document reflects our role and responsibilities and outlines the government statues and regulations with which we comply.<\/p>\n

Alberta’s Health Research and Innovation Strategy (AHRIS) sets out Alberta’s health research agenda for the coming decade to ensure our considerable investments in research align with our priority—to improve the health of Albertans.<\/p>\n
